Willy Wonka, a 2-year-old Pit Bull, has been given a second chance at life and love thanks to the kindness and creativity of a veterinarian technician.
Willy Wonka came to the Sacramento SPCA after a tragic dog attack left him with scarring and missing ears.
Although his hearing was fine, vet tech John Holmquist was worried that Willy might have a hard time finding a loving home because of his appearance.
But John didn't give up on Willy. He had an amazing idea to knit Willy a new set of ears that would make him look less scary and more adorable.
The result was magical! Willy now has an adorable pair of new ears, and a new chance to find a loving forever home.
Willy's story has captured hearts all over the country, and it's no surprise why!
The Sacramento SPCA shared that Willy's story has been spreading like wildfire on social media, and for good reason. He's a lovable, adoptable couch potato who loves living with kids and other dogs. He's also good with other dogs, and his outgoing personality shines through despite his slightly "different" appearance.
But they added, “the one thing Willy isn’t missing is lots of heart.”
The news of Willy's adoption spread like wildfire and it's no surprise that he quickly found his forever family!
Sacramento SPCA shared the news that, “Willy is going home with a #repeatrescuer and will be a big brother to Sacramento SPCA alumni Zeus.”
They added, “Zeus is a bit of a shy guy and looking for an outgoing dog to show him the ropes, and Willy is more than willing to step up to the plate! Thank you all for caring so much about our big earless marshmallow!”
Willy's story is a reminder that every dog deserves a chance at a loving forever home, and that every dog is unique and special in their own way.
