We Love Doggos Charity has proudly sponsored The Underdog Railroad for nearly a full year! Their motto is “Teamwork Saves Lives,” and we couldn’t agree more. We’d like to give you a brief overview if you’re not familiar with The Underdog Railroad Transport!
Cara and her partner Gary launched their non-profit in 2017; with a group of dog loving volunteers, they set up small scale transports from high-kill shelters to safe havens where the pets are given a second chance at finding a FURever home.
What we’ve always appreciated about Cara and Gary is that they break it down into “cost per nose” when they seek support. When they first began transporting doggos, the cost per nose was only $15.03…and they were able to save 428 doggo lives!
Unfortunately, the cost per nose has almost tripled. In 2021, the cost per nose for their transport was $42.70…and they STILL saved 480 pets! Their resilience is awe-inspiring.
This last week, The Underdog Railroad took to the roads and went north.
