In this week’s edition of Wellness Wednesday – Doggo Edition we are going to discuss one of the biggest health challenges your doggo faces: hip and joint pain.
For us hoomans it's bad enough. Almost 20% of us suffer from chronic hip pain. In large scale studies over 32% of people surveyed reported suffering from knee pain.
For our furry family members, it is even worse. Almost 80% of dogs aged 8 or older suffer from varying degrees of hip and joint pain! That means they exercise less, weigh more, are more sedentary and, unfortunately, die younger.
At We Love Doggos we see this problem in real life with our family doggos. For instance, our founder’s doggo, Huckleberry, has such extreme back and leg pain that he drags his back legs instead of walking.
There are simple things you can do that, over time, reduce or help manage hip and joint pain. They make a huge difference in the quality of your dog’s life and increase their life expectancy.
