Weekly PUPdate - Exciting News For Oscar

by We Love Doggos on August 19, 2022

Greetings Doggo Lovers, It’s Ellie and Jesse here with some exciting news!

If you’ve been following the weekly PUPdate, then I’m certain you’ve heard about our sweet German Shepherd puppy, Oscar.

He was dropped off at a Northern California shelter recently with a bleak prognosis, and a non-functioning rear leg. We were unsure whether it was from neglect or a birth defect, but one thing was certain…his leg had to go for him to live his fullest life and possibly ever get adopted.

Through our “Save a Dog Sunday” program, we asked our community to match the $750 donation that the We Love Doggos Charity was making on Oscar’s behalf to cover the $1,500 medical expense. Within hours our donation was matched and Oscar’s surgery date was scheduled.

That was yesterday and we are proud to announce that Oscar’s surgery went off without a hitch!

Oscar The German Shepherd

We received this photo from his foster mama right after and we are relieved that he is resting comfortably. The veterinarian said that Oscar only has two weeks of R&R until he’s ready to be considered up for adoption!

Even cooler? There was a little money left over and we are covering Oscar’s adoption fee too!

Success stories like these are why we step up to the plate every day. We Love Doggos has a passion for offering every homeless doggo a chance to flourish in their FURever home. We know that Oscar is on the way to his soon, and this time, pain free!

Oscar, we love you!!!

So happy for Oscar. He’s a beautiful boy. I hope he finds his furever home and family real soon. He deserves to have a wonderful life full of love.

I have been purchasing items for awhile now (and love everything !), but I haven’t been a member. When I saw the story on Oscar I really wanted to help him. We had a Shepherd who lived to be 14, he looked just like Oscar, so it hit home. I became a member and so happy I did! Just got my “Welcome” packet, thank you btw. I’m so very happy for Oscar that his surgery was a success. Thank you for all you do. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the tee shirts I’ve bought and I always tell exactly where they come from and your website, so hopefully more people will become members too!
